November 10, 2009 (Los Angeles, CA)-- ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT's MARY HART, the venerable host for the past 28 years of “Entertainment Tonight,” the #1 entertainment news magazine in the world, was immortalized in wax last night by Madame Tussauds Hollywood.
Mary Hart is the first female television icon to receive this honor. “What a thrill to join the ranks of Clarke Gable, Jennifer Lopez and Charlie Chaplin,” says Hart.
Mary’s figure is dressed in a gorgeous lipstick red Rose Taft gown and is accessorized with jewelry designs from Chopard, specially recreated for the Madame Tussauds exhibit.
Born and raised in South Dakota, Hart joined “Entertainment Tonight” in its second season and has been a steady presence at the anchor desk ever since, interviewing most of the world foremost entertainers, personalities and newsmakers.
She is also the recipient of many awards, including the prestigious “Gracie Allen Award,” presented by the American Women In Radio & Television (AWRT).
A decade ago, Hart was inducted into the Broadcasting & Cable “Hall of Fame.” She is also a passionate supporter of numerous charities and sits on the Board of Trustees for Childrens Hospital Los Angeles and is a long-time ambassador for Childhelp USA.
