ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT TEAMS WITH THE RED CROSS AND HOLLYWOOD TO ENCOURAGE VIEWERS TO SUPPORT RELIEF EFFORTS IN HAITI
January 14, 2010 (Los Angeles, CA)-- ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT has joined forces with The Red Cross and the Hollywood community to lend support to the devastating crisis in Haiti.
"House" star Olivia Wilde and Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon came to the ET set today to plea for assistance for the stricken island. Garcelle was born in Haiti and as of now has been unable to make contact with family members living in the region. "ET and The Red Cross are household names. That those two can come together to help the victims of Haiti, that is tremendous and I am honored," she told ET. "People follow Hollywood and if they support Haiti, I think a lot of other people will to."
On partnering with ET, The Red Cross adds, "ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT has been a tremendous partner in mobilizing the entertainment community following major domestic and international disasters,” said Julie Whitmer, Director Celebrity and Entertainment Outreach for the American Red Cross National Headquarters. “Those with a public voice have the power to use it to help others and we are deeply appreciative of their generosity."
