2009 JEOPARDY! TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS ($250,000)
CULVER CITY, CA (March 10, 2009) – Beginning tomorrow, March 11th, Jeopardy! reunites fifteen of its recent champions in a head-to-head contest for a $250,000 payout. Taped in Las Vegas on a specially designed set from the convention floor of the world’s largest international consumer electronics trade show (CES), the two-week tournament will air through Tuesday, March 24th.
The winner of the prestigious tournament will receive $250,000, with a minimum guarantee of $100,000 for second place and $50,000 for third place. The six players eliminated in semi-finals each pocket $10,000; players eliminated in the first round receive $5,000.
Jeopardy!, a winner of 28 Emmy awards since its debut in 1984, was inducted into theGuinness Book of World Records for the most awards won by a TV Game Show. The series is the #1-rated quiz show in syndication and has held that title for over 1,000 weeks.
