An erroneous report that Frasier has died motivates him to do a makeover on his life. A fender bender sends Seattle’s favorite radio shrink to the emergency room, w here Frasier’s identity is confused w ith a different patient who later dies of a heart attack. After the press mistakenly announces Frasier’s demise, he decides it’s time to pursue the goals he’s been putting off. Among them: running the Seattle Marathon—a dream cut short when he sprains his ankle wh ile w arming up for his first jog around the block.

THEY’RE PLAYING OUR SONG
Frasier’s attempt to write a simple theme song for his show turns into a major production for he and Martin. Eager to attract new listeners, Kenny, the station manager, asks Frasier to come up w ith a catchy jingle to open his show every day. Rather than use an existing piece of music, Frasier vow s to write his own theme, dismissing a simple ditty Martin wrote that Daphne thinks is perfect. Instead, Frasier composes a major work, complete with orchestra, choir and a dramatic reading by Niles.

SOMETHING ABOUT DR. MARY
When Roz takes a vacation, Frasier’s new call screener takes over Roz’s job — and his show! Roz needs a few days off, so Frasier hires a temporary call screener named Mary from a local career retraining center. At first, Mary barely speaks. But when she disagrees with the advice Frasier gives a caller, Mary’s shoot-from-the-lip style and sassy attitude make Frasier look hopelessly stodgy.

TO THINE OLD SELF BE TRUE
Frasier’s budding romance is complicated by a stripper; Maris tries to sabotage Niles’ new relationship. Frasier is psyched to learn that his neighbor, Regan, is no longer seeing her boyfriend, but isn’t sure whether he should ask her out, since every time he does, he makes a fool out of himself. In the meantime, after learning Donny’s best man can’t throw his bachelor party, Frasier volunteers to host the bash.

HOT PURSUIT
While Niles joins Martin on a stakeout, Roz and Frasier flirt with the idea of becoming more than just friends. Frasier returns from a trip to Boston, only to discover that he and Roz are expected to leave immediately for a broadcasting conference. Although Frasier tries to beg off, Roz reminds him that the opening cocktail reception is rife with dating possibilities. Hoping to jump-start his social life, Frasier agrees to go.

THREE FACES OF FRASIER
Frasier’s delight at having his caricature displayed in a famous local landmark dissolves once he sees the unflattering portrait. For 60 years, Seattle’s top celebrities have been immortalized on the wa lls of Stefano’s Restaurant. Stefano’s gallery of caricatures is about to get a new addition: renown ed radio shrink Dr. Frasier Crane. Although Niles had an unpleasant experience at Stefano’s when he was a little boy, he joins Martin, Daphne and Roz at the unveiling of Frasier’s portrait.

MORNING BECOMES ENTERTAINMENT
Frasier checks his professional dignity at the door when he becomes the cohost of a mindless morning TV show with his agent, Bebe. It’s contract negotiation time, and the station is playing hardball with Frasier. Hoping to prove to KACL what a valuable talent he is, Frasier agrees to co-host a fluffy morning TV show called “AM Seattle,” promising to make it a more thought-provoking program under his auspices.

THE BAD SON
Frasier’s interest in a pretty woman who runs a retirement home could send his father packing. With his car in the shop, Frasier is forced to take the bus to work. The ride improves considerably when he spots a gorgeous blonde. She gets off before he has a chance to introduce himself, but he over hears her name (Miranda) and learns she’s the director of a senior citizens’ home called “The Colonnade.” Niles urges Frasier to “seize the day” and visit the site, using the excuse that he’s checking it out as a possible residence for Martin.

A LILITH THANKSGIVING
Frasier’s ex-wife Lilith summons him to Boston over Thanksgiving on a very important mission: assuring their son Frederick’s admission to the area’s most prestigious private school. Martin and Niles accompany Frasier so that they can all celebrate the holidays together. A nervous Frasier and Lilith are on their very best behavior when they meet with the school’s headmaster, Dr. Christopher Campbell. Yet they’re disappointed when they learn that there’s only one opening available -- and it looks like Frederick isn’t going to get it.

THE FIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS
Knowing Niles loves her, Daphne is forced to confront how she really feels about him. After a sedated Frasier spills the beans about Niles’ long-standing crush on Daphne, she receives confirmation from Roz that the rumor is true. Ironically, after six years of unrequited love, Niles appears to have moved on wi th Mel, leaving Daphne in a state of confusion. Yet, when Niles consoles Maris after the death of a friend, he hides the news from Mel, fearing she’ll be jealous.
